John started making apple crisp while serving as a missionary in France. The recipe below was refined over time to its perfection. Apple crisp has been a family favorite breakfast or lunch for many years. John made two of them during the months that Stanford was undergoing chemotherapy on 26 Nov 2006 and 12 Jan 2007. Stanford loved the family celebration of apple crisp. After Stanford died on 23 Jan 2007 John wasn't able to bring himself to make apple crisp again for a long time. After almost two years and with the family all gathered together for Christmas, it was time once again to make the "World's Best Apple Crisp". The pictures below show all the steps.
